NVIDIA introduces new energy-efficient nylon intermediate technology

NVIDIA, the world's leading nylon polymer manufacturer, has introduced a revolutionary adiponitrile production technology. Adiponitrile (ADN) is a key component of nylon 6,6. This new technology is the result of the company's four-year research across two continents (North America and Europe) with more than $40million in R & D funds

compared with the existing technology, the advantages of the new adiponitrile technology include improving the yield, reducing energy consumption, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, enhancing process stability and reducing the proportion of capital investment

Another environmental protection advantage of the new adiponitrile technology is that there is almost no benzene in its production process

gelinfeng, executive vice president of NVIDIA's Nylon intermediate business, said: "we believe that the new generation of adiponitrile technology is significantly better than the proprietary technology we currently use, and our existing technology is the world's most advanced adiponitrile technology."

Mr. Ge said, "for example, the power consumption of NVIDIA's existing technology is only one sixth of that of other production technologies, so it has significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions. NVIDIA's latest generation of adiponitrile technology can further expand these advantages."

NVIDIA began to use this technology in the pilot production equipment of the R & D center in orange, Texas, more than two years ago. The company is working out the deployment plan of new technologies. At present, the plants available for installation include DEXA's existing plants in orange and Victoria, where state-owned enterprises are to be regarded as the backbone of national economic development, and a plant being built by NVIDIA in China

at present, NVIDIA has started the approval and design of the first phase of the nylon 6,6 intermediate and polymer project. After obtaining all approvals required by Chinese law, NVIDIA expects the project to start construction in 2013

Mr. Ge said, "at present, we are ready to use this new technology in commercial production. We began to actively carry out the preliminary implementation of this new technology more than a year ago, and will officially announce the specific place and time of production in a few weeks."

INVISTA is a leading manufacturer of nylon intermediates and polymers in the world. With more than 70 years of nylon 6,6 production experience, INVISTA has a leading edge in the whole nylon 6,6 value chain

NVIDIA's proprietary one pass rotor insertion technology for butadiene adiponitrile production is widely considered to be one of the most effective and cost-effective adiponitrile production methods with a year-on-year increase of 2.8 times and 3 times respectively. Therefore, more than 75% of the existing adiponitrile production capacity in the world uses NVIDIA's proprietary technology
